WILD BIRD

My friends, my volition and
My loyalty for my lover-
They begged me to bury this heart of mine.
But how shall I explain it to them
That I would’ve if I could’ve
But this heart of mine wants to run wild.
Because this heart doesn’t listen to me anymore
My heart is a wild bird now, belonging to you,
It wants to fly free and run to you desperately.
But I cannot let that happen
So I have captured it in a cage
And this bird is thrashing its wings violently.
This wild bird is suffocating
Like a fish dying out of water on the shore.
This bird wants only to get free.
Loneliness is driving it to self-destruct
And this wild bird is dying inside the cage;
And I wish this wild bird could’ve listened to me.
